How could I ever let such a hallowed tradition as Free Comic Book Day sneak up on me? Probably the fact that it’s finals week at grad school. I’m still glad I made time for this though. It’s just what I needed to destress.
As has become tradition, I made it out to shoot Free Comic Book Day over at Off The Wagon.
Since Karen is a teacher, she doesn’t have to go into work on snow days. We had planned to go for a long walk and maybe some sledding and snow man building, but I wound up spending most of the day just digging out my family after the snow storm. I still managed to snag a few photos before the sun set.
I make it a habit to go downtown and photograph Saint Patrick’s day every year. Unfortunately, this year, everyone must have decided it was too cold, partied on the weekend, or decided to spend the day at church paying tribute to the actual Saint Patrick, because nobody was out yesterday. I went down twice, and both times it was less busy than even a normal Thursday night. But, the lighting was nice and made for some interesting shots, even if they’re not especially holiday themed.
