Back to Thursday’s

The irony of getting more and more work as my professional life is taking off, is that I have less time to make blog posts, and I’ve been missing them. But, I was able to make some time to go back out to get some more flow photos over at Thursday’s in Akron. As much as I was missing the shooting, I was missing the people eve more, and it was great to be able to see everyone.

I experimented with black and white while editing. The goal being to emphasize form over the usual bright colors I focus on while editing these sorts of images.

Random Rab and Saqi at Beachland

With my schedule filling up with more work, I’ve had to cut back on how many of these events I can attend. But, I’m so glad that I came out to Beachland on Saturday night.  I tend to hang out in the margins when I shoot, but I decided to try to reach out and everyone was fantastic. It was nice to finally feel like I was a part of an event rather than just shooting it

Back to Beachland: Part 1

I think my photos are getting  popular with the local ‘Flow’ scene, since I keep getting asked to come and shoot more events. Either that, or they just like me for my personalty. Nah, must be the photo thing. Either way, I’m still having a blast shooting these. The people are all fantastic, and then getting to listen to some new music while I shoot performance artists just makes these events something I always look forward to.

More Studio 526

Every time I go back to Studio 526, I try to shoot it a little differently. This week, I tried tighter photos, black and white, and played with back-lighting more.

Tuesday at Thursday’s

I’ve become popular enough shooting at Studio 526 that I’m starting to get invited to other events. I spent Tuesday night getting to shoot at Thursday’s lounge in Akron, getting to see the light shows put on by some of Akron’s flow artists. I wound up coming home with a ton of photos, so I’m splitting this into two galleries. Feel free to share around the photos. Tuesday at Thursday’s: Part 2

As promised, I have the second batch of photos from my shoot over at Thursday’s Lounge in Akron. Evidently, when you have such an awesome, talented crowd, you come home with about 7 gigs worth of photos to edit, and have to split into multiple galleries.

Video Premiere

I’ve started moving into experimenting with video production. I took my new recorder and my homemade steady cam out to Studio 526 for the Spin Jam event that week. After that, I got to take it home and experiment with it with my first experiment with Adobe’s Premiere Pro.

Regular at Studio 526

Looks like I’ve become a regular at the flow events over at the awesome Studio 526 in Akron. Between stills from my Nikon, GoPro footage, and playing with my new video camera, I came how with about 12 gigs worth of footage. So, be on the lookout for more cool stuff from this event.

Metro Spin Video

Just like last time, I pulled double duty between stills and video at Thursday’s Spin Jam. I got more experimental with this one, playing with more drastic angles and letting the video go longer. How did I do?
