Who loves you guys? Even with crunch time going on at my day job, I still made it a point to come shoot the Contrive Summer Kickoff at Thursday’s. Then, I stayed up through the night to edit them, even though our internet had gone out. But, I persevered, finished the photos, and tracked down some WiFi to get all of you awesome people the event photos.

Coming out and doing regular event photos is a labor of love, but it is a time consuming one. So, if you want to help keep the lights on over here, it would be great if you would consider clicking the ‘Donate’ button off to the right. Every little bit helps me to keep coming out to support you guys.

Back to Thursday’s

The irony of getting more and more work as my professional life is taking off, is that I have less time to make blog posts, and I’ve been missing them. But, I was able to make some time to go back out to get some more flow photos over at Thursday’s in Akron. As much as I was missing the shooting, I was missing the people eve more, and it was great to be able to see everyone.

I experimented with black and white while editing. The goal being to emphasize form over the usual bright colors I focus on while editing these sorts of images.

Following the Sign

How have I never gotten to shoot at this location before? I’m in this area all the time, but it wasn’t until Samantha Novak called me up for work on one of her projects that I got to see this fantastic sign outside Musica in Akron. Samantha, the promoter from the Beachland events, asked me to help her with a video audition to perform at the Electric Forest this year. We shot video at a couple of locations (and you’ll be seeing that video as soon as it’s finished), but slowed things down for some stills by this sign. She’s a great model, amazing performer, and just fun to hang out with. So, be sure to check out her page (https://www.facebook.com/SamanthaNovakPerformance) to keep track with all of the amazing work she’s doing.

Back to Beachland: Part 1

I think my photos are getting  popular with the local ‘Flow’ scene, since I keep getting asked to come and shoot more events. Either that, or they just like me for my personalty. Nah, must be the photo thing. Either way, I’m still having a blast shooting these. The people are all fantastic, and then getting to listen to some new music while I shoot performance artists just makes these events something I always look forward to.

As always, if you were over at the Beachland Ballroom, like the photos, and want to support all of the work that goes into them, it would be fantastic if you could click that ‘Donate’ button over there on the right sidebar. I’m trying to upgrade my camera, so every little bit helps. If you don’t have the scratch to contribute financially, no need to worry. You can still help out the site by subscribing to me here on WordPress, sharing the gallery on social media with your friends, and ‘Liking’ my official Facebook page.

Since I came home with so many photos of the event, I had to split the shoot into two galleries. The second one should be up tomorrow morning, so keep an eye out for those.

More Studio 526

Every time I go back to Studio 526, I try to shoot it a little differently. This week, I tried tighter photos, black and white, and played with back-lighting more.

Feel free to share around the photos. If you like what I do, and want to help support me so I can keep shooting events like this, it would be fantastic if you could click that ‘Donate’ button up in the right hand side of the site. Even if you can’t give, still feel free to share these around the web, and subscribe to me here on WordPress.

Tuesday at Thursday’s

I’ve become popular enough shooting at Studio 526 that I’m starting to get invited to other events. I spent Tuesday night getting to shoot at Thursday’s lounge in Akron, getting to see the light shows put on by some of Akron’s flow artists. I wound up coming home with a ton of photos, so I’m splitting this into two galleries. Feel free to share around the photos. If you like what I do, and want to help support me so I can keep shooting events like this, it would be fantastic if you could click that ‘Donate’ button up in the right hand side of the site. That would amazing.

Tuesday at Thursday’s: Part 2

As promised, I have the second batch of photos from my shoot over at Thursday’s Lounge in Akron. Evidently, when you have such an awesome, talented crowd, you come home with about 7 gigs worth of photos to edit, and have to split into multiple galleries.

As always, if you like the photos and want to support me, you can donate using the PayPal button in the top right of the page. If you aren’t able to donate, but still feel like helping me out, you can always share around the photos, subscribe to the site on WordPress, and “Like” me on Facebook. Support from people like you is what keeps the lights on here, so any help will be greatly appreciated and lets me keep shooting.

Hoop Cam 2

I finally got the balancing right with the hoop cam. I just figured the easiest thing to balance out a GoPro, was another GoPro setup. Well, the mount and case anyway; the housing is empty. It’s been great practice for learning how to edit with Adobe Premiere Pro, and feels like a big step forward from my last hoop video.
