First Ride

FINALLY! The weather has warmed up enough that I can creep from hibernation and go biking again. And, what’s an inaugural ride without a GoPro to shoot all of the photos I can’t be bothered to stop and take myself? In retrospect, it was probably counter-intuitive to convert all of photos of the glorious, spring ride into black and white, but I feel like I had to do something to set them apart from all of the other biking pictures I post.

I’ve set a personal goal to bike 1,000 miles this year, and today’s 20 mile trek was my first step.I just hope I can keep up the momentum,

Outrunning Winter 4

Since I’ve been uploading GoPro images from my bike trips so often, I’ve started to look for alternate routes to keep things from getting too stale. I didn’t have much time to explore, but I did manage to explore a new way to and from where I work. First, I went through some back roads behind the country club and then I found a new vantage point for one of the Twin Lakes behind a local tavern. On the way back, I found a middle route between the short and long ways home.

Saint Patrick’s Day

DSC_0120

DSC_0111I make it a habit to go downtown and photograph Saint Patrick’s day every year. Unfortunately, this year, everyone must have decided it was too cold, partied on the weekend, or decided to spend the day at church paying tribute to the actual Saint Patrick, because nobody was out yesterday. I went down twice, and both times it was less busy than even a normal Thursday night. But, the lighting was nice and made for some interesting shots, even if they’re not especially holiday themed.

Clouds Over The Orchard

20130901_193109Just a quick cell photo I took from the car when I was driving past the local orchard as the sun was setting. I did a little bit of HDR just to see how it would work on an image with quality as low as my cell’s. I think it worked alright all things considered.
