The Doo Dah Video

Because I’m awesome, I shot video and stills at the same time at this weekend’s Doo Dah Parade. My favorite shot is the swing dancers. There was a pickup truck leading them and playing music, so I jumped on it and shot video with my GoPro from the moving truck.

The audio is OC ReMix #2736: Donkey Kong Country ‘Percussion Hijinx’ [DK Island] by Acadia Percussion Ensemble
by David Wise, Eveline Novakovic, and Robin Beanland.  If you like it, you can also find it here: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02736

It’s some great music, so be sure to show them some love.

Samantha Novak’s Electric Forest Audition

I’m sure that anyone following the site remembers my shoot with the lovely and talented Samantha Novak. Those photos are actually just something that we shot on the side while working on her audition video to perform at the Electric Forest event this summer. Getting in would mean the world to her so, after you watch the video, go follow her on Facebook and YouTube. Then, share this around with anyone you can. She’s worked so hard for this, and any support will go a long way.

Following the Sign

How have I never gotten to shoot at this location before? I’m in this area all the time, but it wasn’t until Samantha Novak called me up for work on one of her projects that I got to see this fantastic sign outside Musica in Akron. Samantha, the promoter from the Beachland events, asked me to help her with a video audition to perform at the Electric Forest this year. We shot video at a couple of locations (and you’ll be seeing that video as soon as it’s finished), but slowed things down for some stills by this sign. She’s a great model, amazing performer, and just fun to hang out with. So, be sure to check out her page (https://www.facebook.com/SamanthaNovakPerformance) to keep track with all of the amazing work she’s doing.

The Snow Day

Since Karen is a teacher, she doesn’t have to go into work on snow days. We had planned to go for a long walk and maybe some sledding and snow man building, but I wound up spending most of the day just digging out my family after the snow storm. I still managed to snag a few photos before the sun set.

Morning Walk

With a new house, comes a new neighborhood. I spent a morning just wandering around with my camera. We’re only about 75 yards from a lake, which which I hope has some great potential for future shoots.  In the morning, fog rises from the water, and it makes for some interesting silhouette effects. I’m going to keep a close eye on the lake to see what else it has to offer.
